The old definition database administrator who arranged backups, maintenance etc. is becoming obsolete. We are looking for what we would call a SQL developer.
Managing Azure SQLaas databases while still performing some database tuning, index management, but mainly support software developers with complex queries.
Within Isatis Health (one of Isatis Group's business units) we work with Agile teams on an online solution for pharmacies. Our portfolio consists of a wide range of different applications that are used daily in more than 800 pharmacies. The solution we offer to pharmacists consists of a broad spectrum of (web) applications to support healthcare, logistics and financial processes. In short; that what pharmacists can expect from us!
In the past year we have been working hard on developing new functionality through a newly established micro services architecture. We gradually transfer our monolithic application to this new architecture. This also means backwards compatibility as at the same time the wishes of our customer should not be forgotten. In an environment in which we find continuous delivery very important, this naturally creates sufficient (technical) challenges.
Because we want it and we can, we release new features twice a week. This makes all stakeholders happy. The pharmacists query our system regularly, up to 50 times per second. This has repercussions on our large database clusters.
A high development pace, high communal relevance, high level techniques and a good atmosphere ... if those things make you happy, then we are looking for you!
SQL Developer / Data Engineer
Our landscape now consists of two large AlwaysOn Availabity Groups (with two synchronic nodes and an asynchronous node for BI) and a Data warehouse. One of our products will remain a monolithic always-on cluster (4.5 TB per node). But the other (3.4 TB per node) will be divided into several small databases (micro services). In addition, our shift to the cloud (Azure) also offers the possibility to use PaaS services within the Azure environment. Our databases are able to process around 1,700 queries per second at a quiet time. All this source data is input for our Data warehouse, which in its turn makes all BI wishes of the stakeholders possible. This data warehouse is growing and constantly under development. Affinity in the field of ETL, BIML, Staging Area, CWH and Data Marts is therefore a plus.
As a SQL Developer you are responsible for the implementation of data models, the support of the (software) development teams, query optimizations for the Data warehouse and specific Isatis Health applications. Do you find a high level and challenging application landscape with high performance a challenge? Is T-SQL your second language? Then Isatis is looking for you!
Working at Isatis means working for an incredibly fun, young and innovative organization where fun, business, innovations and hard work go hand in hand. You speak fluent SQL and with your insight and expertise you make an important contribution to the team. Your ingenuity, decisive and collegial attitude lead to expansion, adaptation and improvement of our products.
